Our story

Since his teens, as a student of engineering and technology in India, our founder Hari Padmanabhan has been challenging the status quo. When he started his information technology career in the late 80s in Silicon Valley, he started seeing first-hand how adoption of new technologies was increasing complexity and inefficiency across virtually all industries in an unsustainable manner.

This led him to ask: is it possible to adopt new technologies in the enterprise while also improving people’s lives and making the world a better place? Seeking answers to this question took him on a decades-long journey that gave him first-hand experience in and insights into a variety of industries and their enterprise transformation challenges.

He was convinced that transformation must be managed holistically within the enterprise cultures in a highly iterative and intentional manner. He founded hpad in 2019 out of his home in Wichita, Kansas to facilitate this. Today, at hpad, we are enabling enterprises transform themselves through AI companions.

Our technology is designed to enable Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across virtually any business domain to teach AI and serve as companions for humans. Our Model-First® services help customers create their own custom AI companions in a highly iterative and incremental manner. We are doing this by enabling subject-matter experts (SMEs) to teach AI about the enterprise and its data using their own mental models. Our goal is to lower the barriers enterprises face today to start using AI productively. We would like to see organizations transform themselves, relying on the creativity and talent of their own human resources, assisted by artificial intelligence companions.
